RAJ SINGH INSURANCE BROKERS OPENS FIRST INSURANCE FRANCHISE IN GUYANA

November 1st, 2015 marked a historic day for Owner/CEO of Raj Singh Insurance Brokers & Risk Management Consultants Inc. – Mr. Rajendra Singh, who continues to blaze the trail for the insurance industry by having the first Insurance Franchise in Guyana, located at Rosignol, West Bank Berbice.

This is not the only first for businessman and Insurance Broker, Mr. Raj Singh. In January, 2012, he was the first and only insurance Broker to open a Branch Office in Corriverton, Berbice, which offers a unique and fresh approach to insurance consultations in the ancient county. This branch office is now earmarked to be converted into the second Franchise of RSIB.

At the opening ceremony on November 1st, 2015, the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Ron Robinson, introduced Pandit Kumar Persaud who led the gathering in prayer and provided the event with the necessary groundings for its eventual success. Mr. Raj Singh then made the historic announcement during his remarks where he also dealt with the operating history of the RSI Group of Companies which is made up of several entities, mainly insurance and investment, formed and operating out of Guyana and the United States of America. The CEO then highlighted the special significance of this event with the opening of the very first known franchise operations of a local Company in Guyana with the RSIB-DEVAN KHEMRAJ AGENCY. “This is truly an historic and momentous occasion and breeds new confidence in the entrepreneurial spirit of our Guyanese people and the increasingly stable business environment being created in Guyana. At the same time RSIB is bringing a recognized quality brand closer to the consumers in addition to creating employment. The insuring public will now enjoy the comfort and professional expertise of the RSIB brand at its doorsteps. They can feel confident that they too can have access to the best service available within the industry.”
The franchise will have access to all the resources of the RSIB brand. This franchise will be fully supported by our known professional and technical expertise and experience, our management systems, support and unparalleled service.
Other speakers were Mr. Devan Khemraj, who is the owner and Manager of the new RSIB Franchise in Rosignol, West Bank Berbice and Mr. Pradeep Bachan, PRO of West Berbice Chamber of Commerce. Mr Khemraj provided some insight into the services being offered at this location and the pleasure at being part of the RSIB business arrangement. Mr. Bachan expressed his deep satisfaction to having such a quality service provider opening its doors to the West Berbice community and praised RSIB for taking such a bold step in its expansion at this stage of the economy.

The President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Lance Hinds saying a few words on behalf of GCCI and himself expressed how happy he were to be a part of this historic event and congratulated Mr. Raj Singh and his team on the opening of their first Franchise. It was also mentioned that Raj Singh Insurance Brokers is a long-time member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber is delighted when their members grow and expand. Mr. Hinds stated that over his years at the Chamber, Raj has provided sound advice, critical guidance and support as they sought to execute initiatives in support of our mandate as a national business support organization.
The Chamber feels that entrepreneurship must play a fundamental role in the transformation and ultimate success of the country’s economy. In closing, Mr. Hinds mentioned that we should salute those businesses that have the vision to take advantage of opportunities and prepare to solidify themselves when the economy gets back on its feet and an example of that vision is what we are seeing here today. The fact that Raj Singh Insurance Brokers and team opened their new franchise in this area shows a belief in its sustainability and potential. We as stakeholders and decision makers have a responsibility to ensure that businesses like this who take the plunge must be supported by the right business environment. The Georgetown Chamber stands ready to provide the support necessary in order for the company to achieve its goals.
Also present was Office of the Commission of Insurance / Bank of Guyana, Mr. Kampta Samaroo. In his remarks Mr. Samaroo on behalf of BOG extended warm greetings, sincere congratulations and best wishes to Raj Singh Insurance Brokers & Risk Management Consultant Inc. on the opening of its second office in the county of Berbice.

It is therefore reasonable to anticipate that this new Office will further facilitate improvements and expansion in the Company’s operations. In closing, the vote of thanks was efficiently conducted by Manager of the RSIB Head Office in Georgetown, Ms. Torrica McRae, who took the opportunity of highlighting our company’s philosophy to those present whilst thanking everyone for attending the event especially the management, staff, speakers, guests and the master of ceremonies who was also the MC at the branch Office opening in Corriverton, Berbice.
